Process Minded

Through TWITTER , I recently learned of a book called “Chop Wood, Carry Water” by Joshua Medcalf. You should read it. I went through (2) yellow highlighters, and its a short read, so that should tell you something.

Chop Wood

We professionals, dreamers, doers, athletes and builders of businesses get too focused on the outcome (goal) rather than put in time for the process (work). I’m guilty.

It’s the process that sharpens us to our reality. The outcome will happen regardless, but the outcome we desire may never happen if we don’t focus on the process of the little things.

I am more inspired (now) than I have ever been. I purely believe that God had a hand in this book crossing my path. And, what a joy it has been.

Not only have I realized where I went astray, but what I need to do to get back on track. I have chosen to believe, chop the wood, and carry the water. That decision is mine.

My (personal) Opinion

We get caught up in acting as if we have already reached the outcome. We’ve made it. Living a lie through social media, and acting if we’re somebody we are truly are not. What if we decided to be 100% truthful with ourselves, 100% vulnerable, and 100% authentic?

I truly believe if we committed to that, the process wouldn’t be as hard, and maybe even shorter.

I truly believe the outcome would be much sweeter.

I truly believe in ME.
